For STEC O157 and non O157 prevalence % positive samples, were any positives correlated to seasonality?
For livestock feces, STEC prevalence was significantly higher during summer, fall, and winter compared to spring. No significant seasonal differences in STEC prevalence were observed in wildlife feces. For other matrices, we are still analyzing the data.
How do the seasonal STEC patterns in this dataset compare with those reported in other longitudinal studies or other regions? Do they reinforce or differ from the established seasonality trends?
This question has not yet been examined using the CALS dataset, but it will be considered as ongoing analyses are completed and scientific publications are prepared.
Is there a correlation with all forms of STEC persistence and extreme weather cycles (example: 2023 precipitation and resultant flooding)?
We are still analyzing the data.
Were these clusters consistent with the weather? Would they show in the summer and leave in the winter?
We are still analyzing the WGS data. Results will be reported in a future manuscript.
